I bought a second Betta...One that is from BC Betta but made it to a local pet store. A blue halfmoon I'll post pictures later but for now I have a question on a divided tank.

I saw a bunch of glass cutting machinery at a fish store today and asked them if they would make me a divided Betta tank. I bought a glass 5.5 gallon tank and asked him to divide it into 3 compartments. What he's going to do is silicone the glass dividers an inch or so above the bottom so the water will be flowing through the gravel. He's also useing some pipe to have the filter intake on one side then have the outtake on the other opposite end. He had some really good idea's and I think it will work very well. My question is how would three Betta's do with clear dividers. I plan to put some silk plants and such but will seeing each other all the time stress them out? :dunno:

iv got 7 tubs side by side up on a shelf and the fish see each other all the time, at first they do get very excited but after a while they get used to each other, on occasion they will get up and starte a pissing contest but its nothing thats gunna scar them for life. if i were you i would get a female to put in the middle between the males, that will keep them very happy, and shouldn't stress them out.

If there are plants all the way up the divider it should be ok. You could also see if they can etch the glass for you to make it opaque. You may be able to do this yourself, though I know nothing about it. That would keep the flaring to a minimum. It sounds like a great idea though, and like a great fish store. I have never been to a store that makes their own tanks. Good luck with and and please post pics when it is done.
