whats the best thing to do with some ditritus build up on the sand? and yes this came out of no where...can this be a lack of enough hermits?

Agreed, vaccum when you water change

well i did a water chance like 4 days ago and vaccuumed the sand, there wasint much there.

my cleaning CUC consists of about 4 snails and about 7 hermits in a 30 gallon tank.
