Hello. About a week ago now i got 2 Yo Yo Loaches. I saw them both swimming around happily for the first two or three days but i have only of them seen one since then. I at first thought that he was just hiding but i still havnt seen him, anyone got any ideas of where he could have gone? I dont think he is dead because i havn't seen any bodys. He wouldnt have been eaten by a Banjo Catfish, Dwarf Gorami or Japonnica Shrimp Whould he?
Thanks For the help (If you give it lol)

loaches are great hiders, so check everywhere, they can also bury themselves in sand or even gravel.

it is possible for a dead fish to be totally consumed within a few hours and bones maybe transparent
so you wouldn't see them in the water.

loaches will also get under rocks that you might never have thought they could get under.
Yeah but i thought that they liked to stick together and actuly came out once in a while, because i see the other one all the time, unless ony one of them is ever out at a time lol

And okay, i'll have a look around for him, and if i dont find him then i'll probably get acople more. I hear that they dont like to be alone

I've seen them bury themselves under the gravel along the tank edges, get into small holes in fake ornaments, heard of them in filter intakes, etc. They can get almost anywhere.

And as said, depending on your stocking it is quite possible they were consumed by the other fish. Usually the skull is the only remains left.

yeah i think there both alive but they only come out one at a time because there is one that is smaller and has redder barbels or whaterver there called. If i got acople more would i see them more?

Maybe, they are generally shy fish. I have a tank with 11 loaches in it. You can always find some swimming around, but at least half are hidden at any non-feeding time.
