Wondering if anyone has a CO2 system set up that uses 16gm disposible cartridges.

Would really like to know how many you go through and how the system is working for you.

I've never used one, but do run a system with 20oz refillable CO2 tank(paintball tank). Thing is these small sizes don't last very long, I get maybe a month out of mine on a 20 gallon tank. The whole system I use is kinda cheaply made(lots of plastic), and the regulator has been starting to act up and there may be a leak in the line somewhere. It only costs $4 to refill that canister, usually they rob you on the cost for nonrefillable replacement cartridges. Usually the rule is to go as big as you can in terms of CO2 tanks. I have a small setup and honestly don't recommend them. It costs only $20-30 more for a normal sized system with a 2.5 or 5lb tank, these larger systems are usually made of solid metal/brass and will hold up for a long time if taken care of. My 5lb tank costs about $25 to fill and so far its been 4 months and I have not refilled it yet, its on a 55gal.

I use a more conventional cylinder that is rated to hold 10 pounds of CO2. It costs about $12 to fill but, compared to that paintball kit, it holds 8 times as much gas. That $12 is buying me an amount of CO2 that would have cost $32 in paintball sized containers, using the price Mikaila quoted. If I had a 20 pound container, it would cost me about $16 to $18 to fill according to the store where I get my refills. It seems they charge quite a bit to connect a tank to their bulk bottle but not all that much for the gas itself. The gas part of my refill charge is only about $6, the rest is the charge to do the refill.
