HI

I have a problem.

My cockatoos are acting weird, both of my Males. They seem to be trying to Spit something out of their mouth, and not jus normal spitting, heavy spitting... and then they shake their head which is followed by violent flicking off surfaces. the flickin, once started, is continuous....they flick off at least 4 surfaces and then stop.

I lost one of my demales through this. she jus started doing the exact same thing for a day and by the end of the day she wasnt active at all. she would sit at the same spot all day the next day and swim a little only when the male approaches her. I treated them with parasite medicine, "Sera costapur" but the females gill cover jus got more red by the hour, until i think i could see through her gill cover. she also had very short clear things hangin off her face (like glass worms but very short)

I have been treating them with sera costapur for a week now (my males) but they aint getting better.

my water is absolutely fine, i even keep rams in that water.

is it gill flukes im dealing with? there are NO external signs of parasite on the males. will a salt bath work? or is it bacteria? I have no clue as to wot medicine to treat them with. PLEASE HELP.

ps. they are in their quarentine tank.

sorry for the long post, but i jus wanted to add, If no one knows of the disease that mite be trying to bring down my cockatoos then can someone at least give me advice as to wot courses of medication i should use? cos i have no idea if it is parasites or bacteria, maybe even fungus? but i doubt its fungus.

ps the males dont have anything hangin off their faces.

Thanks

Sounding abit like gill flukes, flicking and rubbing against objects, heavy breathing you can get with it, plus red inflammed gills, also when i treated my fish for this, these little clear things were in the water netted them out, do you think that the parasites have worken there why down the troat from the gills, and this is why they are spitting.
