Just a few days ago one of my two discus died, as described in my earlier post, I could not diagnose the problem and I believe it is associated to my brother turning all the tanks equipment off for 2 days whilst I was away...causing a massive temperature drop and maybe other problems.
Now a few days after that death my last discus is acting very similarly, it is sulking and then swims around (darting into hiding places) however with its fins down. Its colour is gone too, it was once a dark coloured fish and now it is very pale and white. It also appears to be when its swimming not swimming well or having enough energy to do so.
It was always a shy fish, but not this shy. I have absolutely no idea what to do, after checking the water everything appears optimum;
Ammonia 0ppm
NitrIte 0ppm
NitrAte 20ppm
pH 7
KH 80
GH 75
Temp 84
I was actually wondering could it be a sort of anxiety attack because there are no other discus with it and no other fish of a similar size/shape to help it feel secure?
Thanks,
Kylie
