So what do you think I am thinking that I like the second option a lot better but I want to know what you guys think about it. When I start this project I will Post some pics ok :D :fun: :kana:

I would go for none. as the fry have to get to there parents for food. dissobeying these rules will kill the fry. and you should also know that when you get a breeding pair never put them back into the main tank. They get terratorial.

That's why you only separate the fry when they are big enough to eat regular foods :)

By 2 tank for breeding, at least you have to prepare 4 tank to raise the fry.
By 20 gallon tank, you plan to do to raise them up to size????? and how many?
In our farm, we always prepare at least 3 tank 30 gallon to every pair of our discus for the fry when they big enough to eat arthemy shrimp, because the pair of discus will laid eggs again at least one week after :flex: and 5 tank 60 gallon for the raise from 1 inch till size measure 3 inch to every batch (100-250juve).afterwards we split them by 3 division: candidate for mains and contest, export quality and ordinary ones.
And for illumination at breeding tank, discus prefer smooth light, because they are romantic fish  . If for grow tank, its okay
Hopefully this small information can assist you to realizing Discus Breeding Center which you wish :)
What kind of discus you wish to breed?
Dont forget water treatment and correct drugs for your discus.....
Good luck :D

thats what I plan to do, and I won't be putting the parents in the main tank because its only a 20long. I won't be taking the fry out until maybe 1/2 -1 inch (maybe 2inches) I'm not sure but I will experment with it a little.

Ok here is the new and improved design

your last design is good enough, whether/what in grow tank of there are dead-wood ornament?
why placed there????
Whether you are serious for breeding discus? If so possible you require to consider the kind of discus you wish to breed.
my suggestion
- Leopard ( ordinary one or mozaic type)
- Blue Cobalt
- Red Marlboro ( without pepper mark too much)
- Blue Diamond
- Red Melon (without pepper mark too much)
- Golden Variant. :hyper:

Kenny Discus I am asuming that you sell them(I  Discus). So which ones sell the best for you. I like all discus so it doesn't matter which one I breed(although pigeons arn't my favorite). So which one sells the best. Thanks
