Discolouration In A Clown Loach

I have noticed that my clown loaches loose their colours. They sort of go dull. Have anyone ever experienced this?

Greying out could also indicate a change in the water params, especially ammonia or nitrIte
it is advisable to perform a check on your core params.

I have also noted that when "at play" for long periods they grey out too.
