I have a mature female BN that disappeared 2 or 3 weeks ago. Very little room to hide, I picked up the driftwood and looked everywhere but finally gave up. Thursday morning when I got up she was happy and healthy and clinging to my driftwood. Made a pretty good week for me. I've heard they'll bury themselves in the gravel sometimes but I don't know why, lay eggs? I've got two other BNs that disappeared maybe they'll make a comeback too but I doubt it.

they squeeze into the smallest gaps it is unbelievable, my fully grow 6" male hid in a 1" wide gap in bogwood before, i about had a heart attack when i moved it and he was there

This may sound odd but the more places you give them to hide the more likely you are to see them regularly....if you add more caves perhaps the others will come out (were they females too?)

Ive got a Brown Male BN which is fairly large, he got rite inside a hole in my largest piece of wood, i can hardly get my finger in there so god knows how he got in and more importantly out again.

The others were very young. I've got this beautiful huge piece of driftwood for them but I haven't got all of the tan out of it and it isn't a sinker so it needs to be glued to some flagstone. I'll get off my butt today and get the driftwood ready and maybe I'll see the others. Thanks.

my male is the one that hides the most, always in the same crack in the wood. still he comes out with the female most evenings.
