I have a juwel vision 260 and eheim 2215 external filter.

Currently, the filter inlet is at the back right, and the spraybar is also at the back right, pointing forward.

I was wondering if the spraybar could be fitted to the side of the tank, directing the water right to left instead of back to front.

Would this produce a better circulation in the aquarium?

Any thoughts?

Martin

Hi Martin,

I've got Eheim's on both my Juwel Vision's - have the intake pipe on the righthand side, and the spray bar on the left, going left to right - not sure how much difference it makes, but seems to circulate the water okay.

I have mine spraying straight accross the surfance of the water wich agitates it enough to make nice watery patterns in the tank. Also seems to create a ncie current which goes accross the top, down the front, along the floor and up the back

Works nicely, circulates food so the fish think its alive :)

Aiming the spray bar the length of the tank does seem to give beter circulation. Mounting it vertically works well if you have messy cichlids or plecs, it helps keep the bottom clean.

Ooo I was wondering this to I have the spray bar on the back going forward to agitate the water..might try from left to right ....tricky dealing with canister filters though so close to pouring water everywhere :)

... I know about those. Initially I had mine above the waterline and my wife complained that it sounded like a toilet refilling.

Now below the water line as I have live plants and trying to conserve CO2 in the tank.

Thanks for the help above. Will try changing the direction later.

Martin

I have my intake in the left rear corner and my spray bar vertically in the tank down the back right, with 2 sections pointing along the rear wall and the other 2 diagonally across the tank :)
