hi guys, im after some of these (at least 2 preferbaly 3) to replace my mechanical analogue ones. This is becuase i have one timer in my bedroom for my rekord lights and it makes such a raket at night i have finally had enough. It is the same for my lounge.

i want to know which ones you guys use (name, place they can be found etc, a link would be excellent) and ifthey are properly silent.

cheers

This is what I use: Argos Triple-pack

Completely silent, maybe a slight click when they switch, but that is all. REALLY flexible programming available, including a 'random' mode, manual override (it seems not all digital timers have this?!?), and most importantly for me, they are quite narrow, so I was able to fit several side by side on a 4 way extension lead :)

:good:

thats the thing i need, the narrowness (if thats a word)
i find normally on a 4 plug extension lead i can ususaly only get 2 timers, which is a waste really. cheers

No worries, I actually spent a while trying to find these, as I decided to build a powerstrip into my cabinet under my tank, so as you say, needed them to fit side by side.
In the end these looked like they would do the job, so I went into Argos, and asked to view the 4way powerstrip and these timers. The girl looked a bit confused but when I explained it she was really helpful :)
Needless to say they fitted so I bought 2 power strips and 2 triple packs of timers :good:

wow, thanks, i think i might get them then. i find it alot easier when you can actually speak with someone who has them and get some good honest feedback. Thanks for your help mate, much appreciated.

I recently replaced my timers with some digital ones from B&Q which were on offer at the time 3 for £10
Only a faint click when they turn on and off and so far they seem pretty accurate. I'm faily sure the offer was still on a couple of days ago when I was last in there.

I got a few from SCREWFIX when they were on off for £2 - work a treat ! (same as the B&Q timers BTW !)
