Is it possible to difuse diy c02 with the outlet of an xp3? I have a 20 gallon planted tank with that filter and two nutrafin canisters running with that mixture, i dont like the ladder though because there is always some gaseous thing growing on it even though i have a gas seperator.

I would use that one outlet piece for the xp that has like a little valve on top to control the water, does the c02 have enough pressure to push the c02 down about 1 inch though? (this makes sense to people who own the xp3's xD) or is diy pressure to weak. What if i put the controlling valve thing sideways?

I dont know if this will break up the bubbles enough though. The oulet is pointed at my anubia forest so it might help breaking up the bubbles too.

Or, should i just go with an airstone...

thanks!

I have tried putting DIY co2 through the xp3 diffuse venturi thing. It does shoot out bubbles. but they are at the surface. You could try that adapter piece to put the neck of the exit down another 4" if youreally want to do it that way.

I run the Co2 line into the intake of the filter pipe and let it get full saturation in the tube/filter. occationally I can shake the filter and burp the iar bubble out of the filter. very fine bubbles shoot into the tank. some will argue that this will ruin the pump, but so far I have had no issues. Just control your co2 bubbles.

I picked up some drip line 90 degreee elbows from the hardware store for those drip irrigation setups and this allows the line to stay parallel against the intake tube on the filter. Just push the 90 degree piece into the ribs of the inlet.

also as far as diy co2 pressure. that pressure can inject bubbles at the bottom of my 30 inch tall tank.

I had a pinched line on one of my co2 set ups and when I opened up the pinch a ton of c02 shot into the tank. I would think left long enough it could blow open a 2 litter bottle.
