Would a small air stone work as a diffuser for a DIY co2 setup?

no, the holes arent fine enough and it would waste a lot of gas, and therefore money...

you can pick up a nice one off ebay for £1:50. iv got 2 on the way for my DIY yeast set up
here

not sure if they are any good yet as iv not used it.
