I recently bought a few Rangeri swords completely forgetting Flourite and I was wondering if they would last with just a healthy dose of liquid fertilizer once a week until I can get some proper substrate. Yes, no? And why?
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have a black sand/gravel mix substrate. Would it be possible for me to grow plants in containers (trimmed down butter tubs) with Flourite and just place them in holes and cover up the visible parts with my surrounding substrate, without any problems?
I want to try to keep my tank as clean as possible so thats my reasoning behind the containers for the plants. I originally had black gravel, but liked the cleaner look of sand so thats why it's a bit mixed up oddly.
Also, what mid-ground plant has lush roundish leaves and a medium light requirement?
Any help is appreciated!
