In my community tank I have flake eaters and bottom eaters. My bottom eaters are corys a plec and my 2 new goby dragons. No problems with the corys and pleco, but the gobys eat mainly bloodworm, frozen shrimps and things like that. They don't like flakes. I try to feed everyone at the same time, but every time I put bloodworm or shrimps in, the flake eaters finish it before it has time to sink :( and I'm left with floating flakes and hungry gobys. :-( How do I solve this problem? -_-

Put the flake food in first, and when the flake eaters (not the chocolate) are satisfied then put the bloodworm in.

I've tried that ccl - but even though the flake eaters have already eaten, they still go after the bloodworms :/ Guess they just like pigging out -_-

Hmm a tough one, could you use a net and only release the bloodworm about halfway down the tank or am I missing the point? :)

if its a big tank how about feeding in 2 places the 2 ends! I tend to put food all over the floor of the tanks as i have different fish that eat diff things and soem theat eat anything! the joys of catfish and plecs

Easy pickings, gadazobe! Get yourself a turkey baster and release the bloodworms just above the bottom feeders slowly. I do it all the time. First I feed the flakes to keep the others busy. Works like a charm.

Agate

If you have a quarantine or breeding tank, & the above methods fail to solve the problem, perhaps gently removing the problematic feeders in question & placing them in the alternate tank until the bottom-dwellers see the bloodworms hit the floor?
