What is the difference? Is the Betta Simplex the wild type?

Betta simplex is indeed a wild type, and a mouthbrooder rather than a bubblenester

Wow..some of the Betta Simplex are gorgeous! Do you think a betta splendens could get those colors?

Many wild types of betta have that colouration. Wild betta splendens however are more colourful. As for domestic splendes it could be possible to get somewhere near but i think most people wanting that colouration would go for one of the wilds that exhibit it.

I myself have a breeding pair of simplex and they are truely interesting fish. Shy but interesting!
