Difference Between Fluvals?

hi folks - whats the difference between a Fluval 305 + Fluval U3 ?

The 305 is a external and the u3 is a internal.

oh ok lol - is there a noticeable difference in filtration between the two?

Just googled it and the u3 does 800lph and the 305 does 1000lph. I would go for the 305 because you get more water volume, more filter media and then you dont have a bulky filter in the tank just 2 pipes.

I currently have the 305 and would recommend it. It`s doing a much better job on my tank than 2 internal filters ever did.

I`m even planning on keeping the 305 and running a 205 alongside when the new bigger tank arrives, I`m more than happy with the Fluval external filters.

ive got a u3 and cant fault it at all but like others have said it is a slightly bulky think sitting in the tank but it does perform well and does also have those output setting aswell as the venturi valve which i like, however after reading up on the 305 ,it is something along those line that i will be getting next.There is also a price difference to consider

I run both of these on the same tank. Both are very simple to clean. I used to run only the U3 and that did a perfectly good job on my 125L, I added the 305 because I wanted more fish and to increase the flow so that I could start adding real plants.

recommend both but it depends on your own needs.
