Gettin back into it all after 4 yrs off
ok as most of u might know iv ordered a new tank, its commin tonight so i had to make room for it.
the bf did the ol' 'choose one to go or go without' demand so i opted to get rid of my 15.somthin gal, sadly it had my bettas in it
but one good thing is its goin to a good home, my aunt knows about tropicals and shes admired my tank for ages. also shes within the shoutin range if she tells me any of them have died.
so back to my reason for this post... did we do it right?
yesterday we went to glovers got 6 bags and went straight back mine (the fish we not fed on wednesday night as id heard this was a good thing) we took all the things out the tank, plants went in one bag, rocks an bogwood went into a bucket with some water on it, filter also went into a bag with water to keep it wet (yes tank water)
next came the fish, the fighters went into one bag(4 females 1 male),
the swordtails went into another bag (1 male 3 females)
my albino plec went into another bag, and the two frogs went into yet another bag.
we then got my old breeders box and slotted them in hopeing that it might retain the heat... we wrapped an old towle around it for the same reason.
i then emptyed the tank of 95% of its water leavein 5% in to cover the gravel.
placed it all in her car and made sure that her heating was at the right level to keep the car nice an warm (even tho it was only a 15 min drive away lol)
after we got it all into her house we added warm water to the breeders box to make sure the temp stayed constant whilst we were sorting her tank out.
declorinated water added to the tank and a thousand other things later (all in all an hrs job) we placed the fish (still in bags) inside her tank an left them for 15 mins.
we then emptyed the bags (with water as it was my old tank water an her ph is the same as mine) into the newly setup but mature tank. after it had settled down a bit (was a bit cloudy for the first 30mins) everythin looked just the same as it did when it was in my house....
so did we do it right??? was there anythin that u could see as being wrong?.
