Hi folks.

Ive noticed over the past couple of days an iridescent looking brown/green slime developing on the inside of my tank on the glass. It is slimey to the touch and easily comes off when touched. Having looked at a few forums im thinking it is diatomic algae?.

Is there an easy way to remove this ugly scum?.

Is there anything I can simply use to wipe it off the inside of my tank?.

Would appreciate any help.

Cheers.

the brown will be diatoms, and the green will most liley be green dust algae (GDA) These are the 2 most common algae's to form in a new tank, they will eventually disappear, just keep wiping it off, do a water change straight after to remove the free floating algae spores.

Take a look in my sig at the algae guide for more info.

Thanks very much for your help.
