Hi All !

I posted awhile back about what I thought was Ich in my tank. My VERY pregnant female Mollie was "Flashing" against things in the tank and I could see small bumps on her. I added some salt and turned the temp up to 85 on Sunday

I have two questions now:

My Mollie appears better! I only saw her "flashing" against things a few times yesterday...I think she is in the mend.

1. When should I expect fry? She was due the on the 19th but nothing yet! She is sooo HUGE.

2. Can my 5 week old fry handle the temp that high? They are dying one by one! :-(
I looked in at them this morning and saw a few fry "flashing" just like my Mollie was doing. Should I just go ahead and add my Nox-Ich medication? I don't want to loose anymore fry.

I didn't want to medicate, but I'm thinking it would be best for everyone. Also, if I add the medication, how long should I leave the temp elevated?

Thanks!!

Guess that was a bit more than 2 questions eh!!??

i have used white spot medication with fry in the tank before....didn't do them any harm....still have them all now.don't know about the temp as i never raise mine above 80.
my swordtail was preg for nearly 6 weeks last time!!Got really worried but she had them when she was ready. :)

I've had my temp on 85 before treating ich with fry and it didn't phase them at all. Mollies can hold out having babies forever. lol It kinda seems like they know you want them to have the babies,so they hold out.

Do at least a 25% water change before you add your ick meds. Your fry will thank you. :)

THAT ICH MEDICINE WILL KILL YOUR FRY.MY CAP BUTTON IS STUCK RIGHT NOW SO DONT TAKE ME AS YELLING AT YOU BECAUSE IM NOT.I KNOW THIS BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME B 4 TRY TO KEEP DOING WATER CHANGES AND LEAVE YOUR TEMP. AT 85 DEGREES FOR A FEW MORE DAYS. I PROMISE THE MEDICINE WILL COME CLOSER TO KILLING YOUR FRY OFF THAN THE HIGH TEMPS WILL.

Get some Rid Ich + by Kordon. It works fast and is safe on scaleless and weak fish. It has worked wonders in my tank and I have not had any adverse effects.
