Desamoni ?

Ok, I think that my lfs is selling desamoni cichlids but they're labeled as assorted african cichlids. They're about 1" long and right now they are like black with very faint looking stripes and their body is shaped alot like a desamoni's. What do you guys think?

I think that I would never buy a fish out of a tank that said "assorted african cichlids". But who knows...?

I can't help but agree with Modernhamlet, unless you are positive on what they are you don't really know what you are getting - there are a number of mbuna that look like Demasoni.

If they are Demasoni, then I'm not sure of your question.

It is hard to tell. Cheweres look a lot like demasoni. you never know what you;re gonna get, and sometimes they're mutts or cross breeds. Some lfs use this as a way to get rid of wrong fish accidentally shipped to them.
