depth under water for acro with 250watt?

yeah i am thinking about getting an acro frag and was wondering what depth under the water the acro could be kept in under 250watt metal halides?

and what should the water turnover be?

and what would your ideal parameters be for the acro?

thanx andrew

you could go to about 30" with a 250watt halide, but you will get batter colours and growth at about 12" etc. you will need to keep phosphate as low as possable but idealy zero. nitrate should not go above about 25. nitrite and ammonia should not be present at all (as i'm sure you already know). calcium should be about 430-460. magnesium should be about 1300-1400 but is not criticle. S.G should be 1.026
iodine 0.06.

sps need a high water turnover. I have a turnover of 32 times the display tank volume per hour in my tank and 15 through the sump. I would aim for 15 times an hour. you will have to watch your softies because they could get battereed and if they get stressed, they could shed and you really don't want a load of mucus landing on your acros.

cool ill put the frag at the surface when i get it,

ill have to increase the sg as its 1.022!

and i have a water turn over of around 20x is this okay?
