Hi.

I have just baught a Dennerle co2 system with the cyclo difuser. I have set it up to the manufacturers instructions and it says that the co2 spins around inside and comes out of the bottom. On mine there are little bubbles coming out. I dont know if its supposed to do this or mix it so you cant see the bubbles. Thats what i am asking you. If there is supposed to be bubbles coming out or mixed water ????

Thanks alot

Hiya DiscusDude

I dont have a Dennerle co2 system (only rich people can afford those ;) lol) i imagine it works like any diffusion system that goes inside the tank, the bubble will come out of the co2 tube from your cylinder, when it does this it will be at its biggest, as the bubble travels through the diffuser it gets smaller (a sign the co2 is being diffused) and eventually it will come out of the diffuser as probably a tiny bubble much smaller than when it went in, this is normal for most diffuser systems, but like i say im not totally familar with the Dennerle setup, but its probably normal.

Have you measured the co2 levels to see if they are ok.

yeah the CO2 is ok its a 900l tank and there is about 90 bubbles per minuite. Im glad to know thats what C02 systems do.
thanks alot.

It sounds like it's doing its job.

What is your CO2 level? With only 90 BPM in a 900 litre I would assume that will be relatively low.

For your interest I have 60 BPM in a 125 litre giving me 30-35ppm CO2.

It says in the instructions to do 10 bpm per 100 l of water so we have set it to that.

Thanks again.

That is Dennerle being ultra safe to prevent overdosing.

Have you measured your pH and KH? This will give you your CO2 level by using a CO2 chart, there's one in my signature. Levels of 25 to 35ppm are recommended.

thanks

we have a PH probe again dennerle it says it is 7.06 so thats ok and its dropping.

Thanks again

I dont know it snot high as we did a 75% RO to 25% tap water fill up when we set it up so it cannot be high. Think its around 5-7 cant be much higher.
