I had a denisons barb slowly waist away and die about 4 months ago; very slowly, over about 8 months. Most people on this site felt it was TB. I quarantined the fish and dosed with antibiotics. I knew there was little chance to save this fish if it was TB but I tried and it died.

Now another one is showing the same/similar symptoms.

This fish still eats and swims quite well but definitely eats less and swims less than my other barbs. It is yellowish looking compared to the other fish. It hides in one part of the tank allot but it does swim about with the other fish sometimes especially during feeding. It has an inflamed anus; my other barb that died did NOT have a noticeably inflamed anus.

I am gong to quarantine this fish today. My questions are:

1) should I try to treat this fish with anything, antibiotics perhaps?
2) if I get a uv sterilizer might it help prevent other fish in the tank from the same demise? (I think no because I was told other fish can get this from the sick fishes feces - if TB)
3) since I add co2 to my 90g but not to my quarantine tank, and these barbs are know to be sensitive to ph changes, Ive thought the ph change to the quarantine tank might be a serious issue….?

90 g tank, planted with co2 and ei dosing, tank is 2.5 years mature. I do weekly 50% changes that get missed once every few months. All other fish in the tank seem fine.
