Dempsey Color Change

Hi everyone. Was hoping someone could shed some light on the recent color change in my female dempsey. Her color has changed, and she is now dark on the back half of her body, yet pale in color on the front half. Is this a sign of illness, stress, or some other issue???

if the jack's a juvenile it could just be maturing. when they're adults they are usually dark brown/gray with blueish speckles. i could be wrong. without a picture it's hard to tell. you might wanna wait for an expert on this site

How old or big is the JD? Colour change is usually mood adaptable, but they often look different in differing lights as well.
