Hi Could anyone tell me if any types of betta are easier/harder to keep than others or are they all more or else the same?
I am eyeing up one of bettamans crowntails and wonder if it would have the same requirements/diet etc as Barney my betta splendens?
cheers

bettas are bettas. i dont think any kind take different care.

Crowntail and Half Moons require more frequent water changes then the other tail types.

Plakats are the hardiest..followed by the Delta then the Veil.

Crowntail's "rays' have the possiblity of curling if you do not keep their water changed meticulously...so no forgetting that bi-weekly change 2 weeks in a row!

Half Moon's can revert to a Super Delta if their water is not kept changed meticulously...so no forgetting that bi-weekly change 2 weeks in a row!

I've heard (never having kept them myself) that Plakats and females in general (due, I suppose, to their less abundant finnage) are also much less likely to contract finrot, meaning they wouldn't require the regime of medications necessary when it crops up in other bettas.

Thanks for the replies
Dont worry I am a stickler for doing water changes
Barney seems happy so far--eating his food and building bubble nests
So in for a penny,in for a pound and Ive made enquiries about a fancy crowntail tonight
I KNEW THIS WAS THE START OF AN OBSESSION!!!!
