Well I read so much about people thinking of using this water and some saying that it was full of Ammonia I thought I better test mine which I was going to use to wash resins instead of ro/di water which costs to make. I thought that the water from other peoples results must of come from a polluted air source? but just look at my test!!!! from a clean environment. 8+

Anything in the air will end up in the dehumidifier water - cooking fumes, perfume, aerosols (deodorant, hairspray, whatever), candle smoke, anything. I once thought of using dehumidifier water in my steam iron till I poured it into a glass jug to make it easier to get it into the iron and saw all the particles in there.

Hello steve. Dehumidifier water can contain lead, metals, bacteria, microbes, mildew, and mold. The water from a dehumidifier is considered non-potable water. In simpler terms, you shouldn't drink this water, because it can pose a health risk. Don't use it in your fish tank.

You can buy a water distilers which will evaporate water and then condense it back to pure water in a seperate container. Takes several hours to make about a gallon. All you have to pay for it is the electricity and water. It does produce considerable heat so best do it on cool day when your heater would normally run. And its cooling fan is a bit noisy. Total dissolve solids is zero. As long as your tap water is low in organics (tap water typically is) you shouldn't get any ammonia. The interior is hot any microbes will be killed

I would go tthe RO/DI route. But just need a low Nitrate bulk water for my 3 48" grow out tanks.
