Hello all.
I have a stand-alone air dehumidifier in my basement. Normally, during the summer time months it takes about a gallon plus per day out of the air in the basement (into a container). Normally I use the excess water on plants but I was debating whether or not to add this water to the water I collect for my aquariums (I collect 1 1/2 gallons per day from the water between my shower head and the hot water heater).
I've read the manual and there is nothing in there stating "do not drink the water" but it does come from condensation over metal(???) coils and contains what ever pollutants are in the basement air (the same ones I'm breathing at this very moment). It would be mixed with ordinary tap water.
Is this a legitimate alternative or should I simply keep using it strictly on plants (which would be getting the water any way via regular water changes).
