So i am looking around and Decoration for Grumps tank is alot.. Cheapest thing and nicest thing i found was at walmart and it was 20$ i think. Its a giant hollow log grump sleeps in. I made sure to grind the edges down so its not pointy for his little fins.

I found little things like a skull and some rocks from outside that just looked neat (i boiled the rocks before putting them in his tank)

Anyone know a cheaper place to find toys and decoration for Grumps tank?

I heard ping pong balls are a good toy for Bettas cause they push them around the top of the tank? Anyone try this yet?

Also I been hearing alot on using live plants for Grumps tank? Saying Bettas like them and its good for the water? But i am tired of my plants dieing within a week being told they are "full aqua plants" by pet smart employes only to find out they are not really.

Anyone know where to get some plants for his tank?

Maybe try other stores around if there are any, or possibly online.

My betta showed no interest in a ping pong ball, maybe it depends on the betta?

Ahhh, I understand the "full-aquatic" plants problem. >.< But yes, plants are great for any fish. They provide O2, help keep the nitrates low, provide a natural feel to the environment, and jus' plain look nice! :D

Online...maybe in other fish stores? You could try Mapquest to look around your area. :)

My tanks are decorated with clay flower pots. Pour some hot water on them or soak them in a water/vinegar solution (10:1 parts) and they should be clean enough for the tank. They make excellent hiding spots for fish. Just be aware that some fish will get stuck in the hole at the bottom of the pot, so you'll need to seal this with a piece of slate siliconed/super glued to the pot, or bury the pot halfway so that the hole is covered.

Easy plants for low light, low maintenance plants are java fern, java moss, most anubius species, tropica fern, and elodea/anacharis (which will not do well in high temps but is great for mid range temperatures or even cold water tanks). All of the plants I've listed need to be attached to rocks or driftwood. This can be done with superglue or fishing line or natural thread.

Anabantoid species prefer floating plants. Duckweed is readily available on the internet and is very cheap (but it's messy and I'm allergic to it), but my fish seem to prefer water spangle, water sprite, some ludwigia species which are floating at the moment, and pennywort which can be planted or does very well floating. Mine has gone absolutely bonkers.

My betta enjoys lying on his silk plant leaves.if he see you approaching he flares like a madman lol
