Decent Online Places To Buy Unusual Shrimp?

I would say the best way is from other hobbyists.

Ask around on the various shrimp forums and I'm sure you'll get a response eventually.

http://www.interaquaristik.de/catalog/index.php are a German website that will send shrimp and other interesting freshwater inverts (like Aegla and carnivorous snails) to the UK, I've heard of UK people having success with orders from them and I think they can speak English if you phone them.

May want to use firefox with the foxlingo add on installed to view it and order stuff though, avoid google languages for this as it's crap.

Matt has a forum for everything :p

Nope, it's a new online UK shrimp society site, I know as I am one of the 2 owners. lol. One of our goals is to make more unusual shrimp more widely available in the UK, as well as providing a UK centric resource for current, and potential, shrimp keepers.

Right, plug over, try http://www.1a-wirbellose.de/invertebrate-s...p-crayfish.html who definitely ship to the UK at a cost of 24 euros (this is what they quoted me). Or if you are looking for snowball shrimp or green shrimp you could wait until I have finally got my breeding project for these up and running (have the equipment, getting plants and substrate next week, probably be up and going in a couple of months), or you could try posting on UK Shrimp to see if anybody else on there has any other species for sale.

Off the top of my head the places that you can buy shrimp online in the UK are Trimar.co.uk, Wildwoods and Wholesale Tropicals (via tropicalfishfinder.co.uk), www.tropicalfish4u.co.uk, Aquaessentials.co.uk, snailshop.co.uk and good old ebay. There are probably more, but for the really unusual shrimp you will need to look at the German sites.

The stock changes all the time, but Wildwoods and Wholesale Tropicals usually have some interesting ones, they do stock shrimp that aren't on the website as people of the forum have got Sulawesi shrimp from one of them so it could be worth ringing or emailing them. Tropicalfish4u currently have green shrimp along with others and Aquaessentials have 6 different variety's in stock now. Ebay probably works out as the cheapest per shrimp but in the usual ebay way always check their feedback first.
