One of our tigers was found yesterday in the tank with no signs of a struggle or white spots etc. The tank chemistry is fine, is there anything that we should be looking for or could it just be "one of those things"? When my wife looked at the tank in the morning no one was doing anything odd (unlike stumpy who has been moved to a seperate tank as he seems to be one sandwich sort of a picnic in terms of swimming) so this is all a bit strange...
Any ideas gratefuilly received.

I would do a 50% water change then do a full water test to be on the safe side then just write it off as one of those things. Happened to my congos once i assume it was the runt and maybe just got nipped or bullied and gave up, just one of those things mate

We recently did a 50-60% water change however we can easily do another one :) Give us a change to tie some of the plants back on to the wood without be harrased by Big Bad Burt :)

I also lost a Tiger when i had my 18 or so, it happens on odd occasions, but their fighting shouldnt ever result in deaths, its just a fight for dominance and you cant display your dominance to a dead fish.

Good luck.

Just done a pH comparison between current tap water (standing for 24h) and the tank and found that the tank is currently 8.2 and the tap is 7.4.

Assuming this sort of difference existed when we did the 50% water change could this have caused the death?

Should we avoid such large changes when this sort of difference exists?

Thanks
