My snail was fine this morning then he just fell off the glass and stayed at the bottom for a while?

So I moved it next to the front glass so it could climb back.

It just stayed locked up in its shell for about an hour and now it popped out a bit. I poked it with a planter stick and it went back inside a little but still hanging out a little bit, and not going to the glass how do i know if it's dead? :/

sounds like he is pissed off about being poked by a stick :)

If the water is in good condition, (no ammonia or nitrite) then he is probably playing dead. When snails land on their backs they quite often stay that way until nightfall. Then they open up and turn themselves back over the right way. Try rolling it over so it is sitting normally on the gravel and see what happens.

Dead snails will not retract or even move when you touch them. Quite often you will see white slime around the head and if you touch it the snail can fall out of the shell leaving a smelly mess in the tank or on your hand.

Hmm weird little fella :)

I guess he was asleep.

He just rolled over and started venturing across the gravel, now hes stuck to the glass like a snail :good:
