In my tank there is what looks like a dead shrimp. I have seen many shrimp shells but this looks like a shrimp shell with legs, tentacles eyes the lot. The shell is empty but that could be because my fish have been eating it. How do you tell the difference between a dead shrimp and shedded shell??

Do shrimp shed their tentacles (on the front of their head) and legs? And do adult shrimp shed?

Thanks!

Yes and yes but not as often :D

Here's an old pic of my cherry shell. As you can see, it includes legs, tentacles, the lot  Click to enlarge

Ahh ok that's exactly what it looks like... good thought i'd lost a shrimp! I've never seen such a complete shell before!

Thanks

Best way to tell between a shedded skin and a dead shrimp is that a dead shrimp will be "pink".
