I noticed my red wag tail platty wasnt looking too great this morning before I went to work at 7, she was sitting at the bottom of the tank and breathing quite heavily, but just before her tail fin it looked really thin and instead of her fin flaring out it was cramped together? I planned on doing a water test tonight and getting some meds tomorrow if necessary but by 8.30 she was floating on the top of the tank and has competely lost all color!

I've never seen a fish lose their color before??!

I also have another platty whose tail looks like hers did but its been that way for about a week and I cant find any info on it to know whether its treatable or not.
If anyone could shed some light on this I would really appreciate it.

(I will include pictures as soon as I can)

Think you need to test asap to be honest, for the sake of your other fish!

Yep, water test and a big water change would be my best advice.
Always the first thing to do in an emergency!

Its normal for dead fish to lose all of their colour so dont worry about that!

What were the water test results?

Clamped fins are a sign of stress so what tank mates do they have?
