Dead Fish

I went away for the past two weekends, giving my fish food sticks and with a timer light so it come on and goes off automatically. Both times a few fish have died. I dont know why there dying - anyone got any ideas what I can do?

Probably from water quality problems caused by the food sticks. If you're only going for the weekend, I would leave the fish without food instead, shouldn't do them any harm.

we have regular w/ends away & i just leave mine for the weekend & they are fine. a couple of fasting days do the fish good as well

I agree sounds like the food sticks, don't feed they will soon clean the tank up for you.

This is what everyone told me, so first time I went away for the weekend I didn't give them anything and two died (a sucker fish and a red honey gourami). So I put in a single food stick this last time I went away and one of my guppies died. The water quality is fine, i test it regulary. Any other ideas?
