Dead Coral

hi, got a reallynice piece of dead coral from a pet shop, dont think they knew what they had so i got it cheap.

if i put it in a marine tank will it act the same as live rock its a pritty big piece and would fit niceley in my new tank but i dont want to put it in if its not gonna do the same job, its really pourous so im hopeing it will

In 6-12 months yeah it will look like LR. But before then it will look pretty nasty and covered in algae . I have a couple dead corals in my tank that are starting to turn the corner from hair algae rock to live rock.

so in short it takes time but it does change

it look really good im well impressed with it
