I know most of us use the chemicals to remove chlorine from our water, however, I was wondering if there are any other methods that we can save a little money with.

I read using a bucket, place water in and use several air pumps to vigirously pump air with air-stones overnight and that removes chlorine, am I correct?

Any other methods please tell :)

Tom

You would still need to get rid of chloramines in most water supplies which only chemicals will do.

With the price of utilities going up the way they are it would probably cost more for the electricity to aerate the bucket of water than for a small squirt of dechlor.

Simply letting water sit in the bucket for a day or 2 will remove the chlorine but as mentioned, it won't remove chloramines if they are present.

More and more research indicates that chlorine isn't as bad as believed, and that chloramines actually feed the bacteria in our filters. As a result, one alternative method is to not use any dechlorinator, though I am not brave enough to try it yet.
