hello! I would like to take the lid off, and use MH with it. I am looking for smothing to cover the tank with, cover glass or mesh, have you got any ideas? thank you!

If you are going to use Metal Halides, leave the lid off and don't replace it with anything, unless you have fish that will jump out of the tank, in which case, get some egg crate or netting. Metal Halides throw out a lot of heat and during the summer months could endanger the tanks inhabitants through overheating.

Leaving the lid off aids evapouration, which is one of the best ways to keep a tank cool.
