is there a link to a FAQ about danios somewhere on this site i could be directed to?

i just got a new tank, and once i sure ive zapped the ich in my main tank, im gonna try an instant cycle on it and get some danios for it if it's a success

but im not sure what kind to get or if they are all as hardy as they are rumored to be... im sure i heard somewhere that giant danios arent as hardy as zebra danios, but i cant remember where or even if it was right. I'm interested in getting real hardy ones because i want to lose as little fish as possible XD

im not particularly interested in breeding them either, and i was wondering if getting a tank full of them could make that a problem, and if there were any easy ways to prevent it if it is

Yea!... Zebras and Leopards are a bit more "durable" than giants, but they can be on par, It won't be a problem to keep a Danio exclusive tank and unless you specifically put them up for breeding they won't multiply..... They will breed however, but no problem with that.

Are you doing a danio only tank?

If so, I would start with zebras, they are the hardiest and cheapest (in case they die).
The add some leopards, and giants.
There are also some blue and gold varieties.
Also, the GM Glofish, but they are more expensive...and GM
The long-finned varieties are all cool in several different colors.
You could branch out and put in some very similar white cloud minnows.

All in all, danios are all very fast energetic fish that will zip around the tank in an iridecent display.

i decided on longfins... plain zebras are just too plain :p and at least one of my longfins is absolutely gorgeous :) (they werent that much more expensive anyway :p)

im not planning on doing a danio only tank, and i need a bottom feeder cuz i dont want to have to net out the crushed flakes ive been feeding them. I was thinking of getting some ghost shrimp... are they compatible with the danios? Any tips on tankmates would be nice, but im kinda limited as this tank is only 15 gallons and i already have 6 danios hahaha
