Just wondering whether different Danios varieties in the same tank interact with each other ?

eg. I have four Zebra Danios, if I added some other types of Danios of a similar size, would they accept each other as part of their own shoal or would they keep seperate.

The way in which Zebras play together is like watching brothers and sisters interacting. Just wondered whether other varieties would join in or do their own thing.

Thanks

Steve

Yes all danios will, in the absense of their own, school together.
you should avoid puting the larger species with smaler ones
I.E. don't put giants, bengals etc with Zebras, pearls etc.

you can keep dwarfs & glowlights with any danio up to the size of Zebras
but I'd not risk them with pearls, hikari, kyathits etc.

checkout my website for more info.

EDIT
I just noticed your signature
I'm sorry to inform you that your tank is too small for Zebra danios
they will get stressed at being is a small tank and will, I repeat Will
become extreamly aggressive and possibly kill eachother.

Would any of the Danio's be suitable with the smaller Cichlids like The Rams? (about 2in long) my tank is 36l x 15w x 16h

Personally speaking I've got 6 month old nigrofasciatus in with dangila and feegradei.

I've also put large female feegradei females in my nigrofsciatus rearing tank with 3 month old nigrofasciatus when I had to separate my feegradei.

No problems at all - but I did have plenty of plant cover - however danios dont seem to take an eating interest in other danios unless they are really tiny
