danios schooling

Schooling is a defensive strategy. Fish school up when they feel threatened. Generally, schooling behaviour is not seen in small crowded tanks. That said, related fish often hang out together which appears to be schooling - so is often good enough.

Giant Danios get a good deal larger then Zebra and not as frantic, they may well interact, but as the Giant's get larger, I would expect them to ignore the Zebras.

I wouldn't say danios "school" exactly. It's more like they all live at the top and run into eachother once in a while. Since giants also are dither fish I would say they would interact with eachother but not school.

Danio's will school very tightly though when a threat is perceived,.
