Danio With A Spot

hello all, i have a danio which seems to have grown what loos like a blackish/white spot on its nose, anyone got any idea what it could be, all my others look o.k, any diagnoses will be appreciated

Could you post waterstats, tank details and current stocking please? A photo would also speak a thousand words here... If a photo isn't possible, is there any chance of a more detailed description? Fuzzy, hard lump, size?

no he doesnt, the strange thing is i came home from work yesterday and one of my other danios was dead, all my waterstats are fine(tested by by lfs)but i have also lost a apple snail during last week a well

The spot does it look hard or soft like filled with fluid.
How big is the spot.
Does the spot have any redness to it.
Does the fish dig around in the substate.
Any fish showing signs of being listless and lethagic.
Any fish look pale or darker in colour.
Any sores on the body or red streaking on the fins.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

I would do some daily water changes on your tank if fish have died.
