Damn Cat

my fiance's cat is getting on my nerves. he will sit there all day and watch the fish go by, but as soon as the pleco (6 inches now) comes out of hiding he goes crazy. wil will jump at the tank from the couch arm hitting it with both front paws and nose.

should I get rid of the pleco or the cat?

not really an option, the cat has to stay. oh well, I trade the pleco for lsf credit.

When the cat does this, spray him with water. Either squirt gun or whatever. That's how we teach our cats what not to do. Usually it works.

I've been spraying him (still am) to no avail. he has always been this way though, very mischeivious.

My cats do this to if you just let him look anytime he wants to he will get bored with looking real soon, I have 13 cats and each one of them went threw thier little stage of looking at the fish after they found out I wasnt going to stop them from looking then they decided that they wasnt going to waste thier time.

I let him look (he likes the fish), I only spray him when his jumps at the tank (only when the pleco comes out of hiding). he hits a65 gallon tank hard enough to make the water splash. Hopefully he will outgrow the jumping part.

One of our cats seems to like it when I spray her with water, but shake a pop can with about a dozen pennies in it will make her run....or you could put a couple of "noisy cans" on the edge of the Aquarium stand for your boy to knock over when he jumps, the sound should cure him soon enough.

Smear lemon or oranges on your tank...cats HATE citrus.

since I have got the new tank and stand he can't reach it anymore. hehehehe. he stopped liking the water though and leaves all the tanks alone now. he will sit and watch but that is it.

13 cats!!! That's a lot of hairballs. I have 4, started with 1, and tried to train using a supersoaker to keep him off the kitchen table and counters. After a while he just stood there on the counter as the water was spilling off him. Well the cat, and now cats won, and like to get on the counters to see what I'm making for supper. I wonder were that cat hair comes from that sometimes in my food?
