Hi, I have 3 beautiful betta's I do water changes every 4 days because thier in the small betta kits. I keep them under the special light that comes with it to heat the water! I was cleaning thier bowls and one of my favorites jumped at my finger and ended up landing a few inches below in the sink. I tried to take him and put him back but couldnt get a hold of him for about 6 seconds. When I finally got him back into his bowl I noticed a small amount of his fin on top is missing and a little on the lower fin! I put in a few drops of betta remedy to promote fin regrowth. He doesnt seem to be bleeding. Has anybody ever had a death due to a ripped fin?? He looks ok and is flaring and swimming, I am going to separate the bowls though so he doesnt get unecessary stress! Any personal experiance would be great. Thanx everyone!

the only time you will get a death from a ripped fin is
when fin rot set in and you do nothing to cure it, don't worry.

what you are doing is the correct thing, keep up with the bettafix and water changes and he should recover 100%.

ok thank you! He is eating like a monster as usual and i dont see the slightest change in personality! I did separate him from the other bowls so he doesnt flare too much, but he still launches at me and is always trying to bite me! Thats how we got into this mess in the first place!! Thanx for your advice! I will keep adding bettafix and post up updates about his progress!

Yes I agree he should be fine.

Hey, Im glad to say that my betta's fin is slowely, but surely regrowing. Bettafix is working great! should I keep using it until the fin is completely back to normal, or quit after 7 days? Its been about 5 days and I changed the water today.

just add some salt in his bowl instead of the med he should be fine.
