Hi all you guys, I've not been around since September...........oops

Anyway, hubby and I are finally getting around to setting up a nano after having to abandon our 4ft reef tank project last year due to various space problems.

We are thinking about the 24 US Gal D&D Deltec nano cube? Anyone got one? What are they like? Is the lighting and current strong enough for a xenia? He is desperate to have one, although I think its best to wait until we have more experience so it will be the last thing we add, if at all. We would add about 4 kgs of LR and have a pair of common clowns and possibly a coral beauty, plus the clean up crew. Looking to have some various mushrooms and polyps, not sure on all the names.....

Can't wait to go tank shopping at the weekend! :good:

EDIT: the D&D deltec nano is the JBJ one ;)

I havent got one but they look quite cool, The lighting is twin t5's which will be fine for xenia and most softies!

Thanks, yeah the 24G has 2 x 36w T5s and it says a strong water current, I hope that this will not be TOO intense for some soft corals as they can get burned........I would obviously place them low and in the shade of some LR.

hey!

I just baught one myself so i will let you know how it goes. :D

Well it's now got 8 kilos of good LR in there, already seen quite a bit of purple and brown algae growth.......tomorrow some snails and hermies will be added :good: Bought another powerhead that turns over 500 G an hour and now the current in there is excellent

Just a quick update, have photos but they are on my camera at home.

Added 4 x red legged hermits and 5 turbo snails on Saturday. Also got a small piece of mushroom rock. Fingers crossed all doing well and parameters seem stable. The snails have made short work of the brown algae, very pleased :p Mushies opened up nicely, was lovely to watch them glowing under the moonlight LED last night
