i know it usually takes like 3 to 4 weeks for your tank to be cycled..but is there anyhting you can do to speed up the process? like by adding live sand? or live rock? or is it one of these things you just have to wate out?

Thanks guys!

I believe there isn't really a way around this, and if there is I am sure it will proably end up doing more harm than actual good. Don't take my word for it, because I am not an experienced Reefer, however I am learning and reading alot about it. If it's one thing I have learned SW Aquariums require alot of patience.

Just like any type of aquarium, you don't want to rush into anything, having the patience will truely pay off in the long run.

Sorry forgot to mention. Even when using LR and LS, some people are skeptical about introducing life into their tanks after 3 or 4 weeks. Why would you want to rush anything? Especially when SW fish and critters are alot more expensive than freshwater (atleast where I live). It's like flushing money down the toilet.

Yeah, I'm not sure if theres really a way to speed things up unless you choose to do things like me. I used Bio-Spira which is pretty much the only brand that actually works. It cycled within 2 weeks with the L.R and sand put in. But I was a bit skeptical so I waited a week or so before I added my clean up crew. So far I still have every fish I bought, except for one that died from stress. :-(

Agreed, fully cured LR is allready cycled, even partially cured LR will USUALLY cycle in a week.
