Hi guys,

I have a little query with regards to my water quality. I am currently cycling my tank (fishless) at the moment and have been for the last 2 weeks. Tank is a 120 litre with external EX600 canister filter and it is for FW tropicals. I first started off using fish food but after a week the smell was unbearable, so I switched to pure ammonia approx 8ml. I am currently using API test kits for ammonia, nitrite and Nutrafin for nitrate and pH, my test results are as follows

API Test Ammonia 5ppm approx

API Test Nitrite 1ppm approx

Nutrafin Test Nitrate 20-30ppm approx

Nutrafin Test pH 8.2 approx

Just want to ask, am I on the right track for cycling my tank?

Also when the tank has cycled what do you guys recommend with regards to stocking levels, a little at a time or the whole lot?

Many thanks

Alex

Your cycle looks to be right on track. :good: As far as stocking, with the amount of ammonia you are using you should be fine putting in the whole lot. If you don't some of the bacteria will die off, then you would have to build it back up when adding more fish.

Cheers for that puff
