cycling question

i got this cycle stuff made by nutrafin and you gotta put a capful in every week per 10 gallon and 2 capfuls at the start... i got more fish because i thought it was a good nitrificator and now ive heard people say it doesnt work very well and biospira is best the problem is i cant really get to biospira right now non of my 5 lfs have them... pet center pet smart and pet co err thats 3 but watever... now i have 2 uncycled tanks (i think) with fish in em and i cant cycle with the fish in there

so my question is ya kno the filter media squeezings?? do you just put it in the tank or like put it in the filter or or....
