Cycling 10 gal tank with 2 zebra danios

Ammonia tested 2.0 this morning but the fish look as good as ever. Moving fast, eating good and playing. Should I change out 20% of the water or let it go until fish show signs of stress?

We currently have a 30 gallon tank with 10 Gold Tetras in it. Our ammonia was reading about the same as yours yesterday. All of the fish are still ok. My husband who has cycled many tanks, says the ammonia will adjust. As the tank cycles you will have those nasty little ammonia spikes and nitrate spikes. You will know your tank is cycled when everything checks out ok.

How long has it been running for and do you have other tests - nitrite?

:)

If the levels stay up for a while and don't seem to be dropping, get some Stress Zyme. That stuff worked wonders for me. But i did use it on the Nitrite stage of my cycle.

I dont know about changing water while you're cycling....just as long as they are hardy fish, I wouldnt change the water - it might prolong the cycling process IMO.
