For your bettas, do you guys put them in cycled or non cycled tanks? Obviously if you have them as community fish your tank is, but considering you can keep them in anything without anything, you know what I mean. What is better? I just put mine in a new tank, new gravel and new plant. Does it make a difference on their health?

i personaly use only cycled water for my betta. takin right from the tigerbarb tank :p then i jus refill the tigerbarb tank :p lol

Alix -- Sorry to break it to you, but giving the betta old tank water isn't going to do him any good... tanks can be cycled, not water. The vast majority of beneficial bacteria doesn't live in the water, so you might as well just give him regular ol' dechlored water.

All of my bettas are in uncycled tanks except for the 5 boys in the split 10 gallon. It doesn't seem to matter either way to them... the ones in uncycled tanks just get 100% water changes every week instead of the 40% changes the guys in the split tank get.
